Signs that You Might be Dealing with Carpet Mold
Mold can not only grow on your Rhode Island home's walls, tile, and within your air conditioning system, but also on your carpet. In fact, mold can grow on virtually any surface in any damp place with insufficient ventilation. Wet carpets are ideal grounds for mold and mildew growth, as any amount of moisture on your carpet will lead to mold growth.
Carpet mold can be tricky to detect, as the mold may be growing underneath the carpet surface. However, the following signs may indicate that your home is experiencing carpet mold:
- A musty odor in the vicinity of the carpet.
- If you are experiencing such allergic symptoms as breathing trouble, cough, and congestion within your home, it may be caused by your carpet.
- If you detect any wetness or dampness on your carpet, you will probably find mold. Discolored patches, typically white, black, or green in color, on your carpet is most likely mold.
