What is Carpet Pile Height?
The quality of carpeting is judged by such factors as durability, density, and pile height - or the length of a rung's pile from the top surface of the backing to the top of the pile, or the visible surface of the carpet. The higher the carpet pile, the more material the carpet consists of, and generally, the more it costs.
Carpets with greater pile height will usually offer greater levels of underfoot comfort, while carpets with shorter pile height is less likely to be caught and pulled. No matter the height of the carpet pile, carpeting lasts the longest when cared for and maintained properly. For more information on aspects of carpet quality for your Baltimore, Washington DC, or Northern Virginia home, contact National Floors Direct.
